THE WOMAN BEHIND NAY A

Meet Nay

Hi, I’m Naomi, but my friends call me Nay. I’m a home cook who loves creating meals that are simple, cozy, and full of flavor. I learned to cook from the women who shaped me. My mom was an amazing cook and her family owned restaurants, so I grew up around it.

Most of what I make here is Chinese-American takeout food. The kind of thing you’d order on a Friday night, just made at home instead. Orange shrimp, General Tso’s, pepper steak, fried rice. Sometimes I wander off into a lasagna or a big pan of noodles. A lot of it gets cooked on my Blackstone griddle.

I’m also a hardcore lifelong learner, and I think that’s a big part of why I’m good at what I do. Just to better myself, I went to a Korean cosmetology school, completed a software engineering bootcamp, and collected a few random degrees I don’t even use. My daughter says I’m kind of a nerd, and she’s right. When something interests me, I want to know everything about it.

Cooking has always been my way of caring for the people I love, and now I get to share that with you too.

If you’re here, welcome. I hope you find something good to make.
