1. Prep the Green Beans
Wash and thoroughly dry your green beans.
This is important so the oil doesn’t splatter.
2. Heat the Oil
In a pan, heat vegetable oil to about 350°F.
You want enough oil to blister the beans, not just sauté them.
3. Blister the Green Beans
Carefully add the green beans to the hot oil.
Fry until they start to blister and wrinkle on the outside.
4. Remove & Reserve Oil
Once blistered, remove the green beans from the oil and set aside.
Keep a small amount of oil in the pan.
5. Cook the Garlic
Add minced garlic to the pan and cook for about 10–15 seconds, just until fragrant.
Do not burn it.
6. Bring It Together
Add the green beans back into the pan.
Toss everything together.
7. Season
Add salt and MSG.
Toss again until evenly coated.
8. Serve
Simple, flavorful, and the perfect side.
Nay’s Tip
Make sure your green beans are completely dry before frying.
Any water will cause the oil to splatter and mess with that perfect blister.
